The Rene Caisse Herbal Tea
Rene Caisse was a Canadian nurse who developed a simple herbal formula from the original recipe provided by a native Canadian herbalist at the end of the nineteenth century. The tea has been used as a gently supportive remedy for health and well-being over the past 100 years. The tea consists of four herbs: Sheep Sorrel, Burdock root, Turkey Rhubarb root, and Slippery Elm bark, combined according to the traditional formula. All herbs supplied by the Clouds Trust are organic. The name "Essiac" is legally protected and may only be used by Essiac Products Inc, which bought the sole rights to the use of the name. The herbs and formula for the tea are, however, freely available. We supply the tea in monthly packets (each packet is 15 grams of the dry herb mix – Burdock Root, Sheep Sorrel, Slippery Elm and Turkey Rhubarb) and comes with full instructions on how to make it up. We recommend you order one packet to start with, in order for you to try the Rene Caisse Herbal Tea and we will then be happy to send up to 3 months supply for subsequent orders. The Sheep Sorrel is also sent out as a dry herb mix (each packet is 9 grams in weight leaf/stem/root and seeds) and also comes with full instructions on how to make it up. The tea has a pleasant, mild herbal flavour and is usually drunk at bedtime. |
Sheep Sorrel
In addition to the herbal tea, we may also recommend using Sheep Sorrel separately to enhance the therapeutic properties. The Sheep Sorrel is provided as a dried herb which can be made into a solution for therapeutic use. This solution may be used as an enema, douche or gargle, as well as topically. Download the Sheep Sorrel leaflet for further information on how to use this product:
